Welcome to The Photographer’s Element
There is nothing more exciting that finding a little clarity in life. It’s tricky to jump from blog to blog, from forum to forum, to try and absorb all the information out there – only to feel overwhelmed and lost.
We get it. We decided to make learning photography easy, thanks to The Elements.
The Elements guide you to a clear, “makes-sense” path in your photography journey. The beauty of The Elements is that each Element lets you discover photography in a smart, efficient, and focused way. You can explore our Elements by clicking the buttons below, watching the video… or read on for more about our recommended course of study.
We’ve worked hard to create a seamless curriculum that helps you grow and learn in the most logical way possible. Nourish your skills with our Water courses. Ground your technique with our Earth courses. Once you’ve got your foundation set, empower your business with our Wind courses. And finally? Set your photographic passion ablaze with our fire courses.
While it’s not absolutely necessary to take every course we offer (Already a pro at Lightroom? Way to go!), you will find our courses build on one another. If you’re starting from scratch (or want to improve your existing skills), why not follow our recommended order of study?
** optional course, coming soon!
All our courses are taught 100% through video, text, and sometimes audio download. Download your materials to study at your own pace, at the times that work best for you! Then come back to the course pages to watch your videos. Please note that if you choose to study as a Full-Time student, you may have assignments that will be due by a specific time each week. But again, you can complete them at your own pace. There are no required “online” times!
Each person excels differently in different learning environments. That’s why most of our courses are offered in two different formats. Review our options to decide which experience is best for you, your time and your learning style.
To keep class sizes small, and your experience as personal as possible, we offer just 15 Full-Time seats per session. That means you get plenty of instructor time and opportunities to interact with your fellow students. This learning experience is ideal for students who can commit to completing weekly assignments, benefit from feedback and enjoy collaboration. Here’s what one student had to say about her experience:
“In theory, watching the videos and reading the PDF all make sense – but it’s actually doing the homework and getting the feedback that nails it in. I had so many ah-ha! moments when watching the feedback – both mine and others.” Christina Nalbandian
For those of you who are self-motivated to make it happen, or for students whose time constraints will not allow you to submit weekly assignments, we offer 30 Audit seats per session. It’s important to remember that Audit students do not have access to the instructor during their studies. While we encourage Audit students to follow the homework assignments to help test their knowledge of course concepts, homework is not submitted, and feedback is not provided.
